Man arrested in 2022 Murrells Inlet shooting. He now faces attempted murder
A man was booked Saturday into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on an attempted murder charge connected to a 2022 Murrells Inlet shooting that left one person injured.
Tru Jamal Lee, 29, was wanted after the Aug. 30, 2022, shooting, and considered armed and dangerous, according to posts by Horry County Police. He was later arrested in October of that year in another state on unrelated charges, Horry County Police wrote.
Lee faces one count of attempted murder, one count of possession of firearms and ammunition, and one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was discharged from the detention center Monday on a $4,500 bond, online jail records show.
The shooting took place at 3624 Highway 17 Business, where Lee took out a black handgun and fired multiple shots in a parking lot, his arrest warrants claim. A victim was struck by one round in the right knee, and also sustained a graze wound on the back of his left knee, according to the warrants.
Someone on the scene who was familiar with Lee provided his name to law enforcement, the warrants state. Lee was also seen on surveillance footage at the location during the timeframe of the incident.
Lee also had a history of prior violent crime convictions, according to the warrants.
