Update: Women shot man near Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach, police say

One person was injured during a shooting that took place near the Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach, according to police.

Myrtle Beach Police officers responded about 11:02 a.m. Saturday to the 1700 block of Pine Island Road in reference to a shooting incident. One person with non-life threatening injuries was transported to a local hospital, according to a police Facebook post.

On Sunday, two people were arrested in connection to the incident, police said in the post.

Ashley Lynn Stevens, 41, of Conway, has been charged with attempted murder, and Deborah Marie Stevens, 41, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of meth/ cocaine base.

It is unclear if the two women are related.

According to arrest warrants, both women drove to where the victim was staying. Deborah Stevens and Ashley Stevens shot at the victim twice, striking him once in the back area. It is unclear from the warrants if both women shot at the man.

After the shooting both women then fled the area, according to the warrant.

Both suspects’ bonds were set at $100,000 and $125,000 respectively, and they remain in J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Additional details about the shooting were not released. The Sun News has requested the incident report.
