Two men arrested after shooting at Socastee Mexican restaurant. What we know
Two men have been arrested following a shooting at a Socastee Mexican restaurant.
Leontay Williams, 27, of Conway, was charged by Horry County Police with attempted murder, after he fired several shots at the victim, according to an arrest warrant.
Security footage shows Williams pulling out a handgun and firing multiple rounds at the victim, the warrant states. The shooting happened about 10 p.m. Nov. 30 at 4528 Socastee Blvd., which is listed as Los Conpadres Mexican restaurant.
Police found spent shell casings outside the restaurant, according to an incident report. The report does not explain why the shooting occurred.
A second man, Malik Brainard, 28, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with accessory after the fact for driving the shooter away from the restaurant, an arrest warrant states. The warrant notes that Brainard witnessed the shooting and then left with Williams, who were later found by police.
Brainard also faces charges of threatening the life of a public employee or their family, and drug charges.
Both men were booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Dec. 1 where they remained Tuesday without bail, according to online jail records.
