Two arrested in Conway shooting. Victim was shot three times, police say
Two people were arrested in connection to a Conway shooting, during which a victim was shot three times.
Malcolm Shamar Thwaites, 25, and Shaquanna Dominique Thwaites, 32, were arrested Friday for their involvement in the shooting.
That day, Conway police responded at 4:07 p.m. to the Crane Creek Apartment Complex located at 1519 Grainger Road for a call about a shooting. The incident was captured on security footage, according to police reports.
Malcolm Shamar Thwaites was identified by a witness who saw the incident. According to his arrest warrants, he brandished a black Glock 17 and shot at the victim about five times, striking her three times. He remains in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bond on charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
During the incident, Shaquanna Dominique Thwaites brandished a Taurus GS handgun at the victim, and pulled the slide back to chamber a round, her arrest warrant states. She admitted to the offense in a post-Miranda interview. She was charged with pointing and presenting firearms at a person, and was discharged on a $2,500 bond.
It is unclear what the relation is between the two suspects, who share a last name. It is also unclear what led to the shooting.
No information has been released about the status of the victim.
