Update: Man tackled, bit eye of shopper at Target in Myrtle Beach
A man was arrested for assaulting a customer at a Myrtle Beach Target, police said.
On Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at about 12:17 p.m., Myrtle Beach Police officers responded to the Target on the 1000 block of Seaboard Street in reference to an assault, the department announced on Facebook. The victim was covered in blood when police arrived, and said that she was randomly attacked and bitten, according to an arrest warrant.
Bruce Dansby, 37, of Myrtle Beach, was arrested and charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
A person was reportedly struck while entering the Target and then tackled inside, the post states. After being taken to the ground, the man continued to assault the person until security personnel intervened and separated them, according to the post.
The victim told officers that Dansby punched her as she entered the store and then chased her inside when she tried to run away, the arrest warrant states. Dansby then tackled her and bit her on the eye, neck and other parts of her face, and then tried to gouge her eye by digging his fingers into it, the warrant continues.
The assault was captured on private video surveillance, according to the arrest warrant.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where medical staff recorded bite marks, lacerations and abrasions, according to the arrest warrant. The police department stated in its post that the injuries were not life-threatening.
Online jail records show that Dansby has been arrested several other times in recent months on charges including assault, trespassing and shoplifting.
Online reports about the assault claim that the man was growling as he assaulted the victim.
