Police: Man gives teen money and exposes himself at Myrtle Beach hotel
Myrtle Beach police investigated a sexual exposure complaint at a hotel in the 2200 block of S Ocean Boulevard Sunday evening.
The victim's mother told police the incident occurred when the suspect approached her 15-year-old daughter.
She told police that the suspect was wandering around the parking lot with a laundry basket full of clothes and offered her daughter a $20 bill and gave her his room number. The girl took the money and went back to her room and told her mom.
When the mom went outside to confront the offender, he allegedly had his pants down and was performing a sexual act, according to the police report.
The mom told police that she yelled at him and he put down his laundry basket and walked away.
According to the report, when the officer approached the suspect, he said he did not remember giving the girl money or exposing himself. A maintenance man at the building told police that the man suffers from mental illness and has a history of sexual exposure.
The victim did not press charges.
