Man shot at Horry County convenience store. See video of the shooting

Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting at an Horry County convenience store in October that was caught on video.

Tyler and Scott Gerald were arrested on Wednesday for their involvement in a shooting at Gerald’s Convenience Store at 6475 North Highway 701 near Conway on Oct. 11, 2025.

Tyler Gerald sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, and told police it was from bumping into a weapon he had just cleaned, according to a police report. However, the surveillance footage police acquired on Oct. 29, 2025, told a different story.

The video shows Tyler and Scott Gerald, along with two other unidentified men, shooting at a Chevy truck that is driving away. In the video, Tyler Gerald says he has been shot and grabs at his leg, dropping his pants to look at the injury, police reported.

Tyler Gerald faces charges of discharging firearms into a dwelling and obstruction of justice. Scott Gerald is charged with pointing and presenting firearms, discharging firearms into a dwelling, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, as well as two drug charges.

Tyler Gerald is out on home detention after being released on a combined $8,500 bond, and Scott Gerald is still incarcerated at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center with no bond, jail records show.

Scott Gerald was taken into custody while working at the convenience store, where he was found with a pistol and 13 grams of a white, powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine, his arrest warrants say.

The discovery of the cocaine resulted in a narcotics search of the business, during which police found more than 70 grams of narcotics in a backpack and a cooler near the building’s office door, arrest warrants state.
