Horry County shooting leaves one critically injured. One arrest made
One person was left critically injured after shots were fired in Horry County on Tuesday evening, according to Horry County Police.
The shooting took place off of Ivystone Drive in the Socastee area of Horry County, and led to a search for suspects on Tuesday night. The primary suspect, Justin Lashawn Graham, 33, of Myrtle Beach, was found and arrested, according to a Facebook post by Horry County Fire Rescue.
Officers were waved over to where the victim lay bleeding on the ground by bystanders, according to the incident report. The victim showed multiple injuries and was losing a lot of blood, the report states. The victim was able to speak and informed officers that they had been shot.
While in the stairwell where the suspect was last seen, officers saw the victim’s apartment door completely open. Officers searched the apartment but could not find the suspect.
Graham was apprehended later that night after a search.
Graham admitted in a post-Miranda interview to shooting from the second story of his apartment building at the victim and striking her several times with malice aforethought, according to his arrest warrant. He also stated his intent to kill the victim and emptied his entire magazine in the process, the warrant claims.
He was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Tuesday night on charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He remains there without bond.
