Police find an assortment of drugs during traffic stop

A traffic stop in Myrtle Beach leads to the discovery of drugs and two arrests.

Jonathan Trupp, 43, and Abby Johnson, 36, were both arrested and taken to the Myrtle Beach jail Sunday morning.

About 12:30 a.m., a Myrtle Beach police officer pulled over a vehicle for a brake light that was not functioning and found drugs and other drug related materials in the car, according to the police report.

The officer stopped the car in the 1300 block of 38th Avenue North.

After checking Trupp’s driver’s license, the officer learned that Trupp’s license was suspended.

Meanwhile, a K-9 unit on the scene indicated the presence of drugs, according to the report.

A search of the vehicle lead to the discovery of a scale, packing materials, marijuana, heroin and methamphetamine.
