Man with machete at Myrtle Beach coffee shop threatened to ‘chop up’ victim
A man has been arrested for walking into a downtown Myrtle Beach coffee shop with a machete in an attempt to rob a person.
Ladalyon Mycovan Stackhouse, 33, was arrested by Myrtle Beach Police on charges of possession of a weapon during a violent crime and armed robbery.
Police responded to Fresh Brewed Coffee House, 933 Broadway St., about 9:50 a.m. on Sept. 29, 2025, regarding a disorderly male with a machete, according to an arrest warrant.
Stackhouse allegedly was using the machete to rob a person inside the coffee house, the warrant said. He is accused of telling the victim that he needed his money, $25, or his cell phone, or he would “give him this,” alluding to the machete, an incident report said. Witnesses told police that the man said he wanted to “chop him up,” referring to the victim.
Stackhouse was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center where he remains on a $50,000 bond.
