Man hit in head, robbed of money while walking in tourist area of Myrtle Beach
A person walking in Myrtle Beach was followed by two men, who hit him in the head, punched him repeatedly and then robbed of $220, according to a Myrtle Beach Police warrant.
The robbery occurred near the popular tourist attraction Myrtle Beach SkyWheel.
The victim told officers that the two men followed him to 10th Avenue North and Chester Street, where they struck him in the back of the head, punched him in the face, and demanded that he give them his wallet and money, the warrant said.
James Nathaniel Gallatin, 57, was one of the men arrested by police on Sept. 29, 2025, and charged with armed robbery while armed with a deadly weapon.
The victim then states that Gallatin allegedly pulled a knife and threatened to “poke him” if he didn’t hand over the money. The two men then stole the victim’s wallet containing the money, debit cards and medical cards.
Police found Gallatin had a folding knife and he admitted to being on the scene.
Gallatin was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center where he remains without bond.
