North Myrtle Beach band volunteer accused of sending nude pics to student
A North Myrtle Beach High School band volunteer has been arrested for allegedly sending nude photos and making sexual advances to a band student.
Preston Nicholas Bishop Burns, 22, of Longs, was charged Sept. 22, 2025, by Horry County Police with disseminating obscene material to a person under the age of 18.
Police were contacted by North Myrtle Beach High School on Aug. 6, 2025, in reference to a complaint by a student who said that Bishop Burns, who was a volunteer with the band last school year, had contacted her via Snapchat in May, making sexual advances and sending her videos of his genitals, the incident report said.
“Once school administration became aware of the incident, it was immediately reported to law enforcement,” Horry County Schools spokesperson Lisa Bourcier said by email.
Bishop Burns, a 2021 graduate of North Myrtle Beach High School, was no longer allowed on Horry County Schools property, she said.
The messages were received while the 16-year-old band student was at her Little River home, the report said. The victim was and is still a minor.
The video captured some of Bishop Burns’ face and chest, which helped in identifying him, an arrest warrant said. He also admitted to police that he sent the images and video to the student, the arrest warrant said.
Bishop Burns was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center and was released on a $1,000 bond.
