Break-in, theft leads to Horry County shooting that injured one, police say
One person was injured in an Horry County shooting on Sunday morning, county spokesperson Mikayla Moskov confirmed.
The shooting took place off Hewitt Road, outside of Loris, Moskov said in a text message to The Sun News. The shooting was an isolated incident and did not pose a risk to the community, according to Moskov. It occurred at about 3:20 a.m., according to the incident report.
Upon arrival, officers met the owner of the home where the shooting occurred. The report does not say who fired the shots.
The victim of the shooting and other parties involved drove away and were intercepted by other officers, the report says.
Arrest warrants are not yet available.
