2 Horry County shootings leave 3 injured. It’s at least 4th shooting in one area
Two shootings Wednesday night and early Thursday morning left three people injured in Horry County, police said.
The first shooting happened at about 7:40 p.m. off of Rexford Road in the Myrtle Beach area of unincorporated Horry County, and the second took place at about 4:24 a.m. Thursday off of Gateway Drive in the Loris area, according to a Facebook post by the Horry County Police department.
The first shooting sent one person to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the second sent two people to the hospital with injuries, one of whom was in critical condition, according to police.
During Thursday’s shooting, four more people were inside the house where the incident took place, and were not injured, according to the police report. Assorted casings were found around the outside of the residence and in the driveway, the police report states, and a stolen vehicle was found abandoned nearby in a ditch.
The shooting in the Myrtle Beach area took place in an apartment, according to the police report.
Police say they believe the two incidents are unrelated.
No arrest warrants related to either incident have been released.
The Gateway Drive shooting is at least the fourth shooting to take place in the Loris area in recent months. In August, a 66-year-old man was killed in a shooting in Loris, and later that month, another person was killed in the 1300 block of Cedar Branch Road.
In May, a shooter entered a victim’s house in the Loris area and shot them multiple times, leaving them critically injured.
