Update: Myrtle Beach Police officer arrested for violence toward pregnant mother

A Myrtle Beach Police officer has been placed on administrative leave after being arrested on Monday.

Aaron Allston, 38, was charged by Horry County Police with second-degree domestic violence.

On Monday, officers responded to Brackish Drive in Myrtle Beach for a reported disturbance between Allston and a victim, according to an incident report. Allston had reportedly left the scene before law enforcement arrived.

The victim, a pregnant woman with whom Allston shares a child, was found with injuries, according to the report. The nature of these injuries has not been revealed. Allston was arrested shortly thereafter.

Myrtle Beach Police posted on its Facebook that the department is aware of Allston’s arrest and that he has been placed on leave pending the outcome of the judicial process.

It is unclear what occurred for Allston to be arrested. The Sun News has requested additional information.

Allston was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Monday where he remains without bail.
