A shooting over the weekend in Horry County claimed the life of a 39-year-old Longs man, police said.

Timothy Yates was found in critical condition when police responded to a shooting just before 4 a.m. on Saturday in the 2400 block of Plantation Drive, in the Longs area, according to an email from the coroner’s office and a Facebook post by the Horry County Police Department.

He was seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds, and ultimately was pronounced dead. No further information has been released.

The Horry County Police Department is requesting any information, photos or videos related to the shooting.
