Employee stabs his boss after argument over weed whacker, Myrtle Beach police say
A man has been accused of stabbing his boss after an argument over a weed whacker Tuesday in Myrtle Beach.
Myrtle Beach Police arrested Calvin Pigotte, 60, after responding to the incident about 3:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Third Avenue South.
Pigotte, his boss and other employees were doing landscaping work when the weed whacker he was using broke, according to a police report. His boss gave him another, and that one broke too, the report said.
After Pigotte tried to fix the second weed whacker with a box cutter, he and his boss got into an argument. His boss told Pigotte to leave and Pigotte began to swing the knife in a “stabbing motion” at the victim, the report said. Pigotte allegedly stabbed his boss in the chest and fled, the police report said.
Responding officers checked the immediate area and found Pigotte riding a bike on Mr. Joe White Avenue, the police report added.
Police found the knife Pigotte used to allegedly stab his boss. He was charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Pigotte remained in J. Reuben Long Detention Center Thursday on a $30,000 bond.
