Two girls injured after shooting in Loris

Horry County police are investigating after an attack on one woman and two girls sitting in a car in Loris ended with the two girls being shot and taken to a nearby hospital.

Officers were called about midnight Friday to Bennett Loop Road in the Loris area for a shooting incident, Lt. Raul Denis, spokesman with Horry County police, said.

Police said the 18-year-old woman and two girls, whose ages were not listed, were sitting in a 2000 blue Honda when an unknown white vehicle came up to their car and someone from inside started shooting at them.

The two injured girls were taken to McLeod Loris Hospital and are expected to recover from their injuries, Denis said.

The car the victims had been sitting in had multiple bullet holes in it and police said they also found a weapon and empty shell casings about 25 yards from the car.

A stolen white vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting was found nearby and is now in police custody, Denis said.

Horry County Police are asking anyone with information about this shooting to call their tip line at 915-8477.
