Pastor, former Horry County aide arrested for sexual conduct with minor at school
A pastor and former Horry County Schools employee has been arrested for alleged sexual conduct with a minor.
Devin Carroll, 22, was charged by Conway Police on July 5, 2025, with third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 16.
A police report said that Carroll was accused of assaulting a student at Conway Middle School on May 29, 2025. The parents and the student came to the police station to report the assault, according to the report.
An arrest warrant alleges that Carroll grabbed the 13-year-old “in the private parts” in a lewd manner.
Carroll is a former employee of Horry County Schools, according to an email from Kenneth S. Generette, Horry County Schools attorney. Carroll submitted his resignation on Jan. 7, 2025, with an effective date of June 7, 2025. He was assigned as an in-school suspension aide at Conway Middle School during his employment, Generette said.
Carroll also is listed as the current pastor of Happy Home Baptist Church in Nakina, North Carolina.
He was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center where he was released on $30,000 bond Monday, according to online records.
