Mother arrested after leaving child alone in Myrtle Beach hotel room, police say
A mother has been arrested after leaving her child alone in a hotel.
Carla Patricia Almendarez-Guifarro, 31, was charged by Myrtle Beach Police with placing a child at risk or harm or abandons after she allegedly left her child in a hotel room unsupervised, according to a warrant.
Police responded to the Springhill Suites by Marriott, 2006 N. Ocean Blvd., on June 18, 2025, to a report of a recovered child, the warrant said.
Police found that the child, whose age was not released, had been left in a room with a balcony on the 12th floor for more than an hour, the warrant said.
Almendarez-Guifarro was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center where she was released on a $10,000 bond on June 19, 2025.
