Former Aynor High School teacher arrested for sexually assaulting female at school
An Aynor High School teacher has been arrested for sexually assaulting a female student.
Aynor Police arrested Matthew Boster, 31, on Monday, charging him with criminal solicitation of a minor and second-degree assault and battery.
Boster is accused of having sexual contact with the female, which is believed to be a student at the school, from Aug. 18, 2024, through June 4, 2025, according to an arrest warrant. The warrant said that Boster touched the female’s breasts with his body over her clothing and communicated with the minor with the intent to entice her into sexual activity.
Boster was aware that the female was under the age of 18 per electronic communication between Boster and the victim, the warrant said.
Aynor Police Chief Allen Elvis said Tuesday that the case is ongoing and that he couldn’t comment because of the investigation.
Lisa Bourcier, spokesperson for Horry County Schools, said by email that a parent informed Aynor High School officials last week about allegations concerning inappropriate communication and conduct by a teacher with their child. The school administration promptly reported these allegations to the Aynor Police Department and placed the teacher on administrative leave while the investigation was in progress.
Boster, a now former social studies teacher at the high school, was subsequently arrested in connection with these allegations.
Boster began his employment with Horry County Schools in August 2024, Bourcier said. He submitted his resignation on June 10, 2025, she said.
