Update: Loris teen shoots, kills person near Conway. Victim who was shot named
A Loris teen was arrested after allegedly shooting and killing another person in the head.
Horry County Police arrested Damarion Nealy, 17, around 3 p.m. Sunday after a report of a shooting on S.C. 905 near Conway, according to an arrest warrant.
An officer responding to the scene found the victim with a wound to the head about midnight, according to an incident report.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, the report said.
Gregory Johnson II, 20, was shot as he sat in a vehicle outside of his home on Highway 905 in Conway, according to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard in an email.
Officers executed a warrant June 1, 2025, for Nealy alleging that he had been pointing a firearm at the victim before shooting the person, according to the warrant.
It is unclear from reports why Nealy was pointing a gun at Johnson.
Nealy was charged with involuntary manslaughter and he posted bond at $100,000.
