A Loris man was arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with a reported shooting earlier this week, according to Horry County Police.

Winferd Junior Sherman, 27, was booked Thursday into J. Reuben Long Detention Center and remains there as of Friday afternoon, online jail records show.

Police say the shooting, which occurred on Kingcrest Drive outside Loris, left one victim critically injured. HCPD allege Sherman entered a home and shot the victim multiple times with a rifle before fleeing.

HCPD also charged Sherman with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
