Man dead after Myrtle Beach shooting, police searching for suspect
A man is dead after a shooting occurred in front of an apartment building in Myrtle Beach, according to Sgt. Mike Hull with Myrtle Beach police.
Dominick Goodwin, 23, of Myrtle Beach, was killed in the shooting, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler.
Myrtle Beach police identified Damiean Lamont Cantey as the suspect after an investigation, according to Lt. Joey Crosby.
Police obtained warrants for Cantey on charges of murder and possession of a firearm during a violent crime, Crosby said. Cantey is considered armed and dangerous, Crosby said.
Anyone with information on Cantey’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 918-1382.
Officers were called about 9:20 p.m. Monday after an unarmed Goodwin died of a gunshot he suffered in front of an apartment building on Collins Street in Myrtle Beach, off Broadway Street, authorities said.
Hull said it’s believed only one suspect was involved in the shooting. Myrtle Beach police are still investigating.
