A pharmacist has been charged with stealing drugs from a Conway pharmacy.

S.C. Department of Public Health arrested Brittany Louise Cherry, 37, on six counts of theft of a controlled substance. Cherry was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on May 13.

Cherry was a pharmacist at Conway Pharmacy, 1610 Church St., where she allegedly stole amphetamine salts and adderall from Feb. 25, 2025, through April 9, 2025, according to S.C. Bureau of Drug Control warrants.

The warrants allege that video evidence show Cherry stealing the medications belonging to her employer.

Cherry had her pharmacy license suspended for five years in 2023 after she was found to dispense and distribute percocet without a prescription while working at Walgreen’s at 3701 N Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, according to records the South Carolina Department of Labor Licensing and Regulations.

She was hired by Conway Pharmacy in July 2024 despite her license suspension.

Punishment for theft of a controlled substance is not more than five years in prison, or a fine of $5,000 or both for a first offender in the S.C. code of laws.

Cherry’s was released from jail May 13 after posting a $30,000 or $5,000 per each count of theft of controlled substance.
