Man wakes up and finds a stranger in his doorway

Myrtle Beach police are searching for a burglary suspect.

At about 6:45 Sunday morning, police were called to the 500 block of Maple Street for a burglary.

The victim told police that he woke up and noticed a man standing in his doorway.

According to the police report, the victim asked the man what he was doing, and the man ran out of the house.

The victim then ran after the man and caught him as he was climbing a fence, according to the report.

As the victim let go of the suspect to call police, the suspect fled.

The victim describes the suspect as a male, possibly Hispanic, weighing about 150-160 pounds, wearing a bright green shirt, light green shorts, and high top sneakers.
