Shooting in Conway, SC kills 24-year-old. What we know about the incident

A Saturday evening shooting in Conway killed a 24-year-old.

V’ron Gibbs was shot near Grainger Road and Marion Street at about 10:47 p.m. on Saturday, according to releases from the city of Conway and the Horry County Coroner’s Office. The Conway man was brought to Grand Strand Medical Center where he died just before 5 a.m. on Sunday, said Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

It’s unclear what lead up to the shooting. The Sun News requested the police reports but did not receive them before publication.

The Conway Police Department is investigating the death.
