SC police officer arrested after having sex in patrol vehicle in Murrells Inlet area
A Georgetown Sheriff’s deputy has been arrested after engaging in sexual activity in his patrol vehicle with a woman he met through an online adult website.
Cody Christopher Bailey, 27, was on duty in May 2024 in the Murrells Inlet area when he allegedly had sex in his vehicle, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. Bailey was dismissed from the department, the release said.
Bailey, a five-year officer, was charged with official misconduct by a public official.
“The defendant failed a duty of good faith, due diligence and integrity owed the public,” according to an arrest warrant served Friday following an investigation by the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division.
Deputy Bailey was booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center.
