Police said a driver involved in a three-car crash Monday afternoon had been driving under a suspended license and also had cocaine/crack during his arrest.

Hason Pickett, 23, whose hometown was not listed, was charged with driving under suspension, possession of cocaine and other traffic violations, according to jail records.

Myrtle Beach officers were called about 2 p.m. to the interaction of Secondary 15 and Boundary Street where a crash had occurred that involved injuries, according to a police report.

Police said a car traveling north on Secondary 15 had stopped and was waiting to turn left onto Cannon Road when a driver rear-ended him.

The driver who rear-ended him said she had been rear-ended by Pickett and that caused her to hit the car in front of her, police said.

Police said Pickett told them he tried to stop by hitting the brakes to his car, but his car kept sliding, causing him to hit the car in front of him.

Authorities said the driver of the car Pickett hit directly was taken to the hospital with injuries.

While police were running all the drivers’ information through their systems, they said they noticed Pickett’s driver’s license was suspended.

Authorities said Pickett was placed under arrest because of the issue with his license, and police said that during a routine search they found a small cylinder containing an off-white, rock-like substance that tested positive for cocaine-based substance.
