Myrtle Beach school administrator arrested after online sex chat with supposed 14-year-old
A Myrtle Beach area school administrator has been arrested for child solicitation after allegedly chatting online with who believed was a 14-year-old girl.
Jason Keller, 55, listed as the dean of students at Atlantic Collegiate Academy in Conway, was arrested by Goose Creek Police Department on Tuesday at the school, according to records.
Keller was booked into the Berkeley County Detention Center and charged with first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, criminal solicitation of a minor and criminal sexual conduct with a minor (11-14).
A message left with the public charter school was not immediately returned.
Keller is accused of engaging in sexually explicit conversation with someone he believed was a 14-year-old girl while attending an Evaluator 4.0 training event hosted by the Dorchester County School District in October 2024, according to a police report.
The 14-year-old Keller thought he was talking to was actually an investigator with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
Keller’s vehicle was traced to the area in Summerville where he was apparently staying in a hotel, the report said.
According to a statement provided by the charter school to WMBF, Keller has been placed on administrative leave.
