Police investigate an alleged armed robbery in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach police are investigating an alleged armed robbery that happened early Monday morning.

About 2:00 a.m., the 27-year-old victim told police that he and his brother got in an argument at a gas station at 16th and Kings Highway, so he decided to leave his brother walk back to the hotel.

According to the police report, while walking in the area of 16th Avenue North and Withers Drive, the victim was approached by three males.

The men asked if he had marijuana. The victim stated that he did not and continued walking.

However, one of the men allegedly pointed a handgun at him and demanded his wallet and phone, according to the report.

The victim handed over the items and the men fled.

According to the the police report, the men are described as black males. The suspect with the gun was wearing a black bandana around his neck and had dreadlocks.
