Myrtle Beach Police have two people in custody after responding to a barricaded person situation at the 1200 block of Rosehaven Drive near the Myrtle Beach International Airport Friday.

Police said Friday evening 38-year-old Michael James Gatling was charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and 75-year-old Gail Gatling was charged with obstructing justice.

Officers first arrived at the scene to respond to a report of an assault around 9 a.m., but the situation “evolved into a barricaded person,” according to a statement shared to the department’s Facebook page.

According to Myrtle Beach Police public information officer Randolph Angotti, no one was injured or killed during the incident.
