Man sitting on abandoned lot arrested for warrant

Myrtle Beach police arrested a man early Sunday morning for possession of drug paraphernalia and a bench warrant.

The officer approached the man in the 1200 block of 21st Avenue North because he was on an abandoned property.

John Turner, 44, told the officer that he was just sitting on the bench outside the former doctor’s office, according to the police report.

The officer ran Turner’s identification and found that he was wanted for a bench warrant.

According to the report, while arresting Turner, the officer found a broken pipe with residue inside.

Turner told the officer that he used it for smoking marijuana and occasionally, “the good stuff,” according to the police report.

The officer arrested Turner for drug equipment violations and a bench warrant.
