A Murrells Inlet bank is being investigated for a robbery by Horry County Police.

The police department shared Monday that it’s looking into a bank robbery at Coastal Carolina National Bank at 2961 U.S. 17 Business, according to a social media post.

Police posted a description and photos of the person sought in relation to the robbery that occurred about 12:43 p.m., according to the post.

The suspect is described as a male between 70 and 80 years old, who is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches and 120 pounds, with blue eyes and gray hair.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to call the HCPD tipline at 843-915-8477.

As of 2:30 p.m., Horry County Police were at the bank conducting its investigation.

The bank has closed for the time being. It is unclear if or how much money was taken from the bank.

No injuries were reported with this incident. On Monday afternoon, officers were walking around the building, securing and investigating the area.

Police have requested community members to keep away and allow officers to do their jobs, in the post online. The Sun News requested the incident report.
