Conway Police arrested a teenager after he allegedly shot someone while stealing their car.

Malakye Diontre White, 18, of Conway, was arrested on Nov. 23 for attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, pointing and presenting a firearm at someone, carjacking with great bodily injury and carjacking without great bodily injury, according to online bookings. He is currently being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bail.

On Nov. 23, White stole a car at gunpoint at a construction site along U.S. 501 in Conway, according to the police reports. He shot the driver twice before pulling the victim out of the car. He then pointed his gun at the passenger who exited the vehicle and ran.

The shooting victim was brought to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Conway Police.
