N.C. man drowned while in the ocean in Horry County
A North Carolina man was pronounced dead Wednesday after he was pulled from the ocean in Horry County, according to authorities.
Brian Long, 49, of Shelby, N.C., died about 1 p.m. Wednesday while being treated in the emergency room at Waccamaw Community Hospital, Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said.
The cause of his death was ruled drowning, she said. Long was pulled from the ocean at Ocean Lakes Campground.
