Update: Coroner names man killed in shooting between roommates in Myrtle Beach apartment
A shooting between two roommates left one person dead and another injured in a Myrtle Beach apartment.
Myrtle Beach Police arrived at Willow Run Apartments, 2000 Greens Blvd., around 8:40 p.m. on Nov. 4 in response to a weapons discharge, according to the police report. When they arrived, they found a man crouching over another man in the second floor apartment.
Police ordered the offender and four witnesses in the apartment to come to the ground floor. The offender had a gunshot wound to his torso and received EMS care, the report said.
When police searched the apartment, they found Rictavio Thompson, 24, dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
It is not clear from the report what led to the shooting. Thompson is from the Bahamas but lived in Myrtle Beach, according to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
The two men involved in the shooting were roommates, according to a Facebook post by Myrtle Beach Police. The name of the alleged offender has not been released, nor has the name of the person killed.
