A Myrtle Beach area woman was arrested over the weekend after she allegedly didn’t pay taxes for four years, according to the South Carolina Department of Revenue.

Kathleen Drake, 48, was arrested on four counts of failing to file a state income tax return, pay taxes, and keep records on Oct. 11. She had not paid income taxes for tax years 2019 to 2022, according to SCDOR.

In total, Drake earned $1.6 million of taxable income during those years and owes $73,848. The first arrest warrant was filed in 2020 after she didn’t pay $15,897 in taxes she owed that year.

After being arrested, Drake was brought to J. Reuben Long Detention Center where she was released the evening of Oct. 11. She had a $40,000 bond, $10,000 for each charge.
