Teenager charged in shooting death of a 13-year-old at Myrtle Beach, SC, area home
A 15-year-old has been arrested for allegedly killing a 13-year-old earlier this month, according to an email from Horry County Police Spokesperson Mikayla Moskov.
He was charged with involuntary manslaughter and taken to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Detention. He lived in the same house as Jaiden Smalls, the 13-year-old who died, Moskov said in a press release.
The 15-year-old’s name will not be released as he is a juvenile.
Smalls, of Myrtle Beach, died of injuries sustained in the shooting incident at a home, according to an email from Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden. The incident happened on Sept. 1 around 12:30 a.m. at a home along Terrace View Court in the Carolina Forest area.
It is unclear why the shooting happened. This was an isolated incident and there is no risk to the general public.
