Myrtle Beach shooting leaves one injured, police say it’s still under investigation

Law enforcement said they’re looking for tips related to a Thursday night shooting.

At 9:33 p.m. on Aug. 29, Myrtle Beach Police Department officers responded to the 3000 block of U.S. Highway 17 Bypass for a shooting incident, according to a statement posted on their Facebook page.

One person was reported to have sustained injuries and is being treated at a local hospital, officials said. The identity of that person and extent of the injuries was unknown as of Friday morning.

Police officers said the scene has been secured and for the public to expect increased police presence in the area they continue their ongoing investigation.

On Friday morning, the Myrtle Beach Police Department posted on their social media page asking the public to call 843-918-1382 with any information related to the incident.
