A 21-year-old man accused of driving drunk and shooting a gun at another vehicle near a neighborhood outside Conway has been arrested, according to Horry County Police reports.

William Steppe was driving near Peacock Drive and Woodhurst Drive on Tuesday when another vehicle overtook him, the arrest warrant affidavit states. He then allegedly grabbed his handgun and shot at the vehicle in front of him, hitting the rear gate.

The incident was seen by a witness and caught partially on a security camera, according to a police report.

Steppe faces charges with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, discharging a firearm, discharging a firearm into a dwelling and driving under the influence.

He is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bail.
