Myrtle Beach woman allegedly stole keys while man in hospital, then robbed his home
A Myrtle Beach woman allegedly robbed a home using the keys she apparently stole from the homeowner while he was in the hospital, a police report said.
Tianna Grace Brown, 30, was arrested Tuesday by Myrtle Beach Police on charges of first degree burglary.
Brown is accused of using the keys to come into an apartment Oct. 17 at Balsam Place, located off U.S. 501, while the homeowner was at work, an incident report said. The 54-year-old man told police that he was in the hospital last week and believes that Brown stole the keys to his apartment while he was there.
The man said Brown didn’t have permission to be at the apartment. It is unclear from the report if the man knew Brown.
The man’s roommate said Brown, who he didn’t know, came into the apartment and took all the victim’s belongings.
Brown allegedly took credit cards, jewelry, identity documents and keys, according to a police report.
He said once Brown had the items, she said, “I need to get out of here,” and left.
Brown was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, where she remained Wednesday on a $20,000 bond.
