A former Myrtle Beach High School football star remains jailed on armed robbery, drug possession and failure to appear charges, according to records at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Daquarius Raquan Wilson, 21, of Myrtle Beach was booked into the jail at 1:27 a.m. July 14 on charges of armed robbery, simple possession of marijuana and four counts of failure to appear, according to jail records. He remains jailed pending a bond hearing on the robbery charge.

Wilson was stopped by Conway police about 1 a.m. July 14 after the officer smelled marijuana coming from a vehicle that was next to him on Millpond Road, according to a police report. The officer stopped the vehicle and learned Wilson was wanted by Horry County police on a charge of armed robbery.

When Wilson was searched at the jail, officers found marijuana hidden in his body, according to the report.

In an Horry County police report filed at 12:30 p.m. May 13, Wilson was listed as the suspect in the robbery of a 32-year-old man, who reported his cellphone was stolen while Wilson held a knife to his throat. That incident occurred at 569 Blue River Court near Myrtle Beach.

Officers attempted to locate Wilson at that time, but did not find him.

Wilson was a member of the 2012 class at Myrtle Beach High School and had signed a football scholarship with North Carolina Central at that time.
