The South Carolina Highway Patrol has made an arrest in a Highway 501 hit-and-run that killed a 28-year-old woman.

Scott Robert Johnson, 61, of Conway was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, Lance Cpl. Lena Butler confirmed. He was arrested on Aug. 2 and released on Aug. 3 on a $30,000 bond, according to jail records.

The crash happened on July 28.

Deandra Goodman, 28, of Myrtle Beach, died from her injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office said Goodman was walking up the Myrtle Beach side of the 501 bridge near Waccamaw Pottery area when she was hit.
