26-year-old to spend next 60 years in prison for double murder of father, stepdaughter
A 26-year-old man will spend the next 60 years in prison for a double murder that happened in Georgetown County in 2020.
Tysheem Walters III, of Myrtle Beach, was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty in the deaths of Laura Ashlee Anderson, 21, and her stepfather, Charles Nicholas Wall, 45, both of Andrews, according to a press release from the 15th Circuit Solicitor Jimmy Richardson’s Office.
The judge sentenced Walters to two 60-year terms and an additional 30-year sentence for the attempted murder of Francis Paul McConnell, 42, of Hemingway. The sentences will run concurrently and Walters must serve each day of the sentence and is not eligible for parole, the release said
Walters was involved in a shooting spree on Aug. 24, 2020, after a minor motor vehicle accident on Highmarket Street near Indian Hut Road, the release said.
Evidence showed that McConnell and Anderson were waiting for Wall to help them move a bed being given to McConnell, according to the release. Walters was traveling behind Wall’s vehicle, and ended up hitting the vehicle.
Walters was extremely frustrated and was upset about the crash when he went to his vehicle and produced a .40-caliber handgun, shooting Wall and Anderson twice, killing them both, the release said. He also shot McConnell through his left arm, which emptied the handgun that contained six bullets.
McConnell then ran. Walters chased him down, tackled him and hit him in the head with the handgun. Walters ran from the area and police arrested him about a half mile from the incident location in the woods, the release said.
