Lexington man sexually assaulted victim at a North Myrtle Beach public pool, police say

A 34-year-old man is accused of sexually assaulting someone at a pool on Wednesday, an act captured on video tape, according to North Myrtle Beach police.

Raymond Dale Kirkland, of Lexington, is facing one charge of criminal sexual conduct.

The assault happened in the pool area at North Beach Plantation, according to an incident report. When confronted by officers, Kirkland told them there was a DJ at the pool as well as people dancing but could not recall the assault and “presented in an extremely nervous state,” the report says.

Police obtained video footage from North Beach Plantation. When officers searched his vehicle, they removed items in his possession and returned them to his wife, the report says.

The report also says that the crime was specifically sexual assault with an object.

Kirkland was arrested on Thursday and released the same day on a 10,000 surety bond.
