More than 20 pairs of shoes taken during home break-in

Myrtle Beach police are investigating after three men reported items were taken from their apartment including, about 20 pairs of children’s shoes, four pairs of Nike-brand shoes and jewelry, according to a police report.

One of the victims also told police he knew a woman who matched the description of a person a witness saw carrying items and leaving home, police said.

The victim said the woman had been there with him earlier that morning, but left about 9:45 a.m., authorities said.

Officers were called about 6:50 p.m. Wednesday to an apartment at 803 13th Ave. S. where a 34-year-old man and 42-year-old man reported the incident, police said.

Another 42-year-old man, who said he knew the woman seen at the home earlier that day, also later told police some of his belongings were taken, including a laptop computer, six gold necklaces and a wedding band, according to the report.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry when they initially investigated.

Crime scene officers were called to the home.

No arrests were made in connection with the incident as of Thursday morning.
