Longs man charged with attempted murder released from jail
A 32-year-old Longs man charged with attempted murder in connection with an incident that involved a woman’s house being shot at four times was released from jail Thursday morning.
Adriene Connor was arrested April 29 in connection with a shooting that occurred in January and was released from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on $16,500 bail, according to jail records.
Horry County police responded to the incident involving Connor’s arrest about 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 14 to a home on the 3600 block of Half Pint Road in the Longs area, authorities said.
A 25-year-old victim told police that about 4 a.m. that day she discovered Connor in her home. She said they argued and he walked outside her house with his handgun, according to the police report.
The victim told police she walked to the left side of her home - still inside - and heard about four gunshots. Authorities said they found four shell casings and four bullet holes in the left side of the victim’s home.
The victim told police she did not call about the incident earlier because she was afraid of Connor, authorities said.
The victim told police Connor was already wanted in connection with criminal domestic violence when the alleged attempted murder occurred.
Authorities had charged Connor with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature stemming from a separate incident.
Connor was also charged with unlawful use of a telephone and shoplifting.
