A woman was arrested in connection with shoplifting after police said she hid plumbing equipment down her pants at a Home Depot store and then left without paying.

Idena Michelle Thomas, 40, whose hometown was not listed, was charged with shoplifting, according to the police report.

Myrtle Beach officers were called about 12:35 p.m. Tuesday to the Home Depot store at 951 Oak Forest Lane, near Seaboard Street, where a 38-year-old loss-prevention employee reported the incident, authorities said.

Police said the employee had detained Thomas in the loss-prevention office when they arrived.

The employee told police he saw Thomas take the copper plumbing fitting items, valued at $43.72, and hide them in her pants, authorities said.

The employee said he saw Thomas then leave the store without paying for the items.

Police said Thomas was taken to the Myrtle Beach Jail.
