Suspect shot at Market Common jewelry store during attempted armed robbery denied bond

A suspect who was shot at by an employee during an armed robbery at a Market Common jewelry store was denied bond on Monday afternoon.

Michael James Alexander Perez, 33, was arrested and charged with three counts of first degree assault and battery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and armed robbery.

Online booking records show Perez was denied bond on all charges.

Perez was in the hospital recovering from injuries until the bond hearing Monday.

If convicted, he could face between 10 to 30 years on the armed robbery charge, up to 10 years for the three counts of assault, and five for the weapons charge.
